After marking his newly found home, Riley decided it was time to explore the terras surrounding his own. He had seen plenty of places so far, but he was drawn to this area, a big area of green covered in white, for some reason. Riley, being a deep city dog, had never actually felt grass. He sniffed it lightly as he reached it, and took one paw onto it carefully, before realizing that the grass wasn't going to hurt him. He wagged his tail, and padded along in the moist grass, looking for anything to entertain himself with.
As he walked along the terra, he realized that there weren't many people out. He wondered why. As he looked around, he let himself fall to his haunches, and he tilted his head, thinking. It was fairly cold, and there was a light dusting of something wet and white along the ground. Snow. Riley knew that when it snowed, many of the older humans didn't like to be outside, but the younger ones loved it. He would see them riding on the snow-covered streets on trash can lids, and pieces of wood with ropes and metal on them they called 'sleds'.
He shrugged it off, and looked around still. He was sortof looking for another of his own kind to talk to. Now that he had a home, he would need someone to share it with, or it would only be another shelter. He stuck his nose to the air, and sniffed, trying to smell for any other dogs. He would even settle for a friend, if he could find one.

Heavy jowls were slightly frosted over with frozen drool as the thick for that owned them moved through the snow and slush. Though there was a brisk breeze blowing through and the powder was cold to the touch of his pads, the saint Bernard felt no cold. This was his target temperature, maybe a little higher. His coat was not very thick but it was heavy enough to keep all one hundred and eighty pounds of his bulk from shivering, unlike the hairless humans who were forced to wear other creature's skins to keep the cold away.
As he continued to ponder the cold, the brute was surprised when a sudden musky odor seemed to smack him across the face, wrenching him from his thoughts and putting his body on high alert. Another dog was in the area and you could never be sure who meant you well and who meant you harm. Raising his dome to its full height, ken optics scanned the surrounding area diligently. He needed to locate this creature lest it sneak up on him... It wasn't long before dark pupils landed on the form of a much smaller four-legger some ways down the path. Letting out a small sigh of relief, the Bernard made a slow approach in the mix's direction. Even if this dog was aggressive, he was pretty confident that he could best it in a fight.
As the heavy creature neared the other, it became apparent that this stranger was a brute, a male collie mix of some sort that appeared anything but aggressive. Smiling now with his spirits lifted, the Saint dared to shout out with his slight English accent.
"'Ello there!"

Riley's ears picked up as he heard the other dogs welcome, and his tail begun to thump against the ground. His hazel eyes looked over the brute, and he was almost shocked to see such a big dog. He stood, seeing that he was not too much smaller than the other brute, but much thinner.
"Hello!" he replied, wagging his tail a little faster now. This was the first dog he had ever actually spoken to in years, and he was excited about it. He took a few steps forward, realizing now that this dog was a Saint Bernard, a dog fit for the snow. Riley himself had a fairly thick coat, but it was nothing like the one of a dog who was made for snow.
"The name's Riley." he explained to the brute, hoping that his friendly hello meant that he was a friendly dog, and that he would welcome a friend. "This weather is great, huh?" he said, not really a question, but more of a statement. He looked up into the sky, sitting down, seeing a few white flurries fell from the grey sky.

Smiling warmly at the stranger as he neared, the Bernard was overjoyed to get a cheerful greeting in return. he had been worried that this bru was going to be aggressive but no longer. An aggressive canine could not greet him with such kindness. Waving his long bushy tassel slowly, the Saint paused once he was beside the mix, shaking his coat briskly before responding.
"'Ello Riley. I'm Chomper, Chomps if you must. Mighty fine weather indeed. Could be a smidge colder though."
Had a human been able to here that statement, they would've imagined these creature to be the voice of the gecko on the car insurance commercial. Though his accent was truly only slight, it really showed through on that little bit of conversation for some reason, especially on Riley's name. But Chomper ignored it. Others said his accent was charming...
"More snow'd be nice too."

Riley smiled warmly back at the stranger, whos name he now knew was Chomper. Wonderful accent he thought to himself, wagging his tassel still. "Nice to meet you, Chomps." he replied, his smile still on his muzzle. "Yes, more snow would be lovely... snow is so much fun. Especially for the two-legged children. They seem to love it." he added, his gaze shifting around the park, watching all the children scream and laugh with pleasure.
Riley wondered where this massive dog was from. "Are you from around here?" he asked, looking back up at the dog that stood before him. His tail still wagged, not sure what was fueling it. The thought of a new friend, or the cold? Maybe both? He wasn't really sure, but he didn't really care either way.

Laughing warmly as the bru agreed with him, the Saint shifted lazily into a sitting position, soft clouds rising from his open maw. It had been a long time since someone called him Chomps. His lack of contact had been immense as of recent but it was nice to get some alone time now and then. Still, socializing with others was where he truly belonged. Nodding in agreement, the corners of sagging muzzle curled upward in a smile.
"Yes indeed... yes indeed..."
Trailing off at the end, dark chocolate orbs traveled elsewhere momentarily, idly watching what few humans that were about. Most were busily hustling from one place to another, rubbing their hands as they went. Chomper found it funny, how humans felt the cold. Even in the harshest of winters, it never seemed never seemed to bother him. Yanking himself from his thoughts, curious gaze rested back on Riley as another question was asked.
"Not from around here. I was born to the East good ways, place called New England. Years of wandering and idle happenings brought me here." Maw opened wide again in another bellowing laugh before quieting down again. "What about you, my friend?"

Riley nodded as the Saint before him explained his past, and when he was done, he wasn't so sure how to explain his whole life simply. "I guess I am the same, but I don't really know if I came from a certain place. I was born on the side of a street with the name of '5th' and that is all I remember. As a pup, my mother was killed, and so I've been on my own from a very young age." He stopped for a moment, hoping he wasn't telling to much as to bore this brute.
"And now that I've found my way here, I've found myself a good home, something I've never had before. It's quite exciting really." he added, looking up at the brute with a grin spread across his mouth. "Sorry.. I'm talking too much. It's just that I haven't really ever had someone to talk to like this.." he said, fading off at the end. This brute had called him his friend. Something he had wanted for so long. His tail thwaped against the grass and snow, and this time, he was sure it was from the thought of a new friend.

Why was she here was the question, and what was there to answer it? Nothing. The large Landseer from Tennessee, had nothing, no one to turn to for warmth in the snow, though it was no problem for her. She had the heavy set coat, as she needed it in the ice cold Tennessee Februaries. February is the coldest month for Tennessee, and she knew she wasn't allowed to come inside. Tipper sighed, auds back as she wandered into the park, looking around, wondering who was here, and who would help her do something about finding help, considering she wasn't a native. One thing that irked her, was when people made fun of the way she spoke. She had a Southern Droll type of thing goin' and people made fun of it. Well, here, if they did that and they were from Chicago, she could make fun of them couldn't she? They had an accent as well, so she had a card to play as well.
Smiling to herself, she wandered to wards the two bulls.- One looked like Jeeter used to, and the other was a Saint, as she was used to calling them. Smiling, she walked to wards them, tassel swaying slowly. "Hey there...What are y'all's names? I'm Tipper...." All she wanted were friends, nothing more. Well....maybe a home and some food, but that's all. Sitting down away from attack range, she looked at the two bulls, tassel still swaying side to side slowly.

After he was done speaking, Riley's nose begun to tell him there was another dog around. A fea. His ears perked, and his gaze shifted over to the dog that had spoken. His own tassel wagged along with the stranger's, knowing that she was friendly, like himself and Chomps. His grin grew, and he continued to wag his tail. "Hello Tipper, I'm Riley, and this is Chomps." he replied to her question, happy to be meeting another dog. Possibly a new friend. He hoped also that he wouldn't be offending Chomper by introducing both of them to the new fea.
He could sence she wasn't a local, for she had a slight southern accent, possibly from Alabama, or Tennessee? He shrugged it off, knowing that it must be somewhere around there, maybe even further south. "Nice to meet you." he added with a bigger, his tassel thwaping a little faster for a moment, but then slowing down. He was glad that so far, all he had met was friendly dogs. He knew that there were some dogs out there that would aim straight for your jugular if you sent them one glance. He had met dogs like this before.
His mind raced as he thought about all the times he had run into dogs like that, and how all he wanted to do was stay out of their way. But it seemed as though some were just out looking for a fight, as though every other dog was out to kill them. He knew dogs also faught over food, and so he, being the submissive type, would always allow that dog to eat whatever he had, and he would just move along, looking for another meal.
He shook his head lightly, steering his amber pools back to the fea, glancing at Chomps as he did so. He didn't know why his mind was wandering so much just then. He guessed it must be because he now had a terra to protect, and he knew he would have to be way more agressive than he was currently. He guessed he should ask his new friends if they needed a home, for he would be more than happy to have family members. Another smile spread across his face, and he waited for a reply of some sort.

The saint Bernard gave a chuckling laugh when Riley claimed to be talking too much. Chomper didn't mind at all. Talking was a good way to transmit information, to keep stories and share history and culture and the like. You could never talk too much. He was about to tell his new companion such when another creature came up from behind the mix. She kept he distance but offered her own greeting at the same time. A smart girl.... But the Bernard merely nodded politely, a thick smile on his droopy face. Riley had already said all he could so there was little else to do, except to invite the female over to talk.
"'Ello there Tip. You don't mind if I call you Tip now do you?"
As always, the brute's tone was friendly and inviting, his ever present accent shining through as always. Pausing in his greeting to glance at the mix in front of him, he soon resumed his call with a motion of his head.
"Come on then. There's nothing interestin' over there that ain't over here. Promise I won't bite ya. Riley too, right?"

Riley nodded, and gave another friendly smile to the new fea. As he did, a thought suddenly hit him. Did they have a home? He looked down at his feet, guessing that he shouldn't just ask.. but how else was he supposed to get members? He couldn't just wait around for dogs to come ask him. He had to ask them. He took a deep breath, and looked back to Chomps, ad then to Tipper. He didn't know Tipper that well yet. But he guessed that Chomps was a friendly old 'fellow' that he could say was a friend. It was hard not to like a big old guy like him. He chuckled a little to himself, and then looked back to Chomps. "Hey, um, Chomps? I would like to ask you something.." he said, not wanting to just blert it out, feeling it would be un-fair to Tipper if he did. He knew she was welcome to join his pack, but he wanted to ask them indevidually, for he felt that would make it a better leader of him. He didn't want to become the dog who lets everybody in. That would get to be a very, very big mess.

Tilting his head curiously to one side, the ain't regarded the mixed male with a questioning grin.Usually, others didn't as if they could ask you something... or warn you about it before hand. The larger brute just found it odd that Riley did but pushed such idle thoughts to the back of his mind.
"Yea, sure. What's up?"
Grinning stupidly, chocolate gaze shifted from one form to another. Tipper was being awfully quiet and the big bru was curious. She's probably just a shy little thing but the Saint couldn't help but wonder...
